MILWAUKEE, WI — Super Steel, the century-old metal fabricator that spent decades on Milwaukee's Northwest Side, is bringing its recruiters back into the city for a Super Steel hiring event on Monday, October 26. For two hours on the sixth floor of the Milwaukee County Job Center on North 27th Street, the company will meet welders, CNC machinists, assemblers, maintenance techs and engineers, and no registration is required.

Ten positions on the list, from the shop floor to the engineering office, a $3-an-hour shift premium on the flyer, and a hiring team that says manufacturing experience helps but isn't a must.

🔥 Who Super Steel Is Recruiting

The official event flyer from the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development names ten positions, and they split into two groups.

On the floor: welders, a cobot technician, maintenance technicians, CNC machinists, assemblers and a tool and fixture fabricator. In the office and on the quality side: a production manager, an inventory control specialist, a quality engineer and a manufacturing engineer.

That cobot technician line is worth noticing. Collaborative robots work beside welders and assemblers, and a shop that runs them needs people who can program and troubleshoot them.

💵 Shifts, Pay and What They Want

The flyer lists two shifts: first shift from 5:00 AM to 1:30 PM and second shift from 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM. It advertises a $3-an-hour shift premium and overtime opportunities. It does not publish base wages for any of the ten roles, so we are not going to guess at them. Ask the recruiter in the room.

What the company says it wants is refreshingly plain: strong mechanical aptitude, reliability, a willingness to learn, attention to detail, and a safety and quality mindset. A manufacturing background is preferred but not required, and technical credentials help without being a gate.

The interview is in Milwaukee. The job is in Mequon. Super Steel moved its operations from its longtime Tower Avenue campus to a larger site in Mequon earlier this decade. Map the drive to North Industrial Drive in Ozaukee County before you commit to a shift.
First shift starts at 5:00 AM. Second shift ends at 11:00 PM. Be honest with yourself about getting there at either end of the day.
