What Macy's Is Hiring For This Season

Macy's, Inc. laid out its plans in a holiday hiring announcement. Stores are filling part-time seasonal jobs, and select distribution and fulfillment centers are adding full- and part-time crews. In-person hiring days run on three Thursdays: September 24, October 22 and November 19. Macy's says event times vary by location.

Be clear-eyed about one thing. Macy's named 10 markets where it expects bigger store hiring this year, including Chicago and Minneapolis, and Milwaukee is not on that list. Neither of the company's two named supply chain hiring sites is in Wisconsin. Macy's has not published a headcount for Mayfair or Southridge, so treat Oct. 22 as a good shot at a holiday job, not a guaranteed offer.

There's no single published pay rate. Every Macy's posting lists its own pay range, so read it before you apply. Listed perks include a colleague discount, a 401(k), eligibility-based medical, dental and vision coverage, and access to earned wages before payday.

🗺️ Mayfair or Southridge: Picking Your Store

Macy's store directory lists four Wisconsin locations, and two are in metro Milwaukee. The others are in Madison and Appleton.

Mayfair, Wauwatosa. On Mayfair Road (Highway 100) near North Avenue, a short hop from the Zoo Interchange. The natural pick for Tosa, the west side, West Allis, Brookfield and Elm Grove. The store also houses a Macy's Backstage on its first floor.

Southridge, Greendale. At South 76th Street and Grange Avenue. The south-side choice for Greenfield, Hales Corners, Franklin, Oak Creek and Cudahy.

Both stores sit inside busy malls, so a holiday shift can come with a short commute for anyone already living along the 76th Street or Highway 100 corridors.
